Skoda auto car factory tour


The Skoda Car Museum was opened in 1995 in the town Mlada Boleslav on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of Laurin & Klement Car factory - one of the oldest European car factories. In 1895 - The mechanic Vaclav Laurin and the book-seller Vaclav Klement - both bicycle enthusiasts, started manufacturing of bicycles of their own design. Few years later The Laurin & Klement began producing motorcycles. After initial experiments at the turn of the century production of motorcycles was gradually replaced by automobiles. Skoda has been producing automobiles since 1905. The first Laurin & Klement automobile - Voiturette A - the grandfather of automobiles - was a full success, later it became the archetype of Czech automobile classics. The volume of production increased and soon exceeded the potential of a private enterprise. In 1907 the founders of Company initiated conversion to a joint-stock company. In 1925 fusion with the Pilsen Skoda Co. was accomplished and marked the end of the Laurin & Klement trade-mark. After the political changes in 1989, under the new market economy conditions, Czech Government decided to cooperate with the German Volkswagen Group. The Skoda-Volkswagen joint venture began to operate in 1991 under the name Skoda, automobilova a.s.. Mlada Boleslav is situated 1 hour drive from Prague, to the North East.

Glass factory Nizbor tour

Pilsner Urquell brewery tour


About 80% of the world beer production has got the name PILSNER, but there is only one original - PILSNER URQUELL - it is situated in the Czech town Plzen. Come to see this famous brewery with us. The world famous Pilsener Urquell beer is brewed in this town. Plzen visitors can taste it in one of 9km long passages of the brewery cellars. The tradition of beer brewing in Plzen dates back to the days of city foundation in the late 13th century. However, only the 1840s brought the significant improvements in the beer-brewing process. This type of beer, that is produced in Plzen for over 150 years, is generally considered as the archetype of a quality of light lager. The technology and name are imitated by many beer brewers. It is possible to have lunch in the brewery restaurant. Than you can go to see the historical city center. Do not miss to see the unique BREWERY MUSEUM in the town Plzen. It is the oldest brewery museum all over the world. The history of brewing in Bohemia is very interesting - the first written evidence of beer brewing is from 1088, even though it is safe to assume that beer was produced here much earlier. The idea of a brewery museum was born in 1929. Five years later a museum committee was set up. They began to collect old exhibits of beer brewing from the world and Bohemia. You can see here furnishings and equipment of old beer-houses. The technical curiosity is a mobile model of the steam brewing house. One room is dedicated to the history and equipment of the brewery laboratories, instruments and library with its specialized literature. You can see also two-floor medieval cellar, carved out in the rock, it was used for storing of fermentation vats, lager-barrels, and ice which kept the room cool. Pilsen is situated 1,5 hour drive from Prague to the West.
